Pictures of Northern Minnesota
Sept. 28, 2009
My girlfriend and I took a trip to Minnesota in February, 2009. While there, we and my parents visited the family cabin in northern Minnesota near Duluth. That night, the temperature sank to -30 F. Unbelievable. And yet, during the day it was sunny and actually seemed warm! This isn't the most interesting batch of pictures, but those who have been to the northern Midwest will recognize the landscapes.

The cabin is over 100 years old. It requires periodic maintenance (funny how houses are like that).

Inside the cabin. It takes a while for the wood-burning stove to heat up the interior.

Birch, pine, and balsam fir seem to the predominant species here. In between is a hay field.
